Better Letters | Online Submissions to Physical Petitions Australia
Our website address is: betterletters.com.au
This is a platform designed to support Australians in their quest to have their voices heard. By using this website you agree that you will send only one letter, per issue, per politician, until you receive a reply. Gathering like-minded individuals to each express their views is the goal of the platform. All correspondence should be respectful, while making your views clear.
Better Letters assumes no responsibility for the content of the letters sent through the platform.
Personal Data Collection
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Your contact information
If you enter your contact information in our contact forms or opt-in services, it may be checked through a spam detection service, and will be temporarily stored in order for us to contact you when you ask for support.
When you sign up for our opt-in offers, such as entering your email, your information is stored in an email marketing service. You can opt out of this service at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” button at the bottom of any email we send you. We will then immediately remove you from our email marketing list.

Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
We collect information in order to track numbers of visitors to our site and how they interact with it, such as what pages they click on, how many minutes are spent on each page, and their demographic data. This helps us to improve our website to serve our users better.
Who we share your data with
User behaviour on this website may be shared with our analytics, advertising, and social media partners, so that our efforts may be better targeted and useful to our users.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
